Rep. Rebimbas named to Guardian Ad Litem Board of Directors

Naugatuck, Conn., Feb 4, 2010 — Attorney Michael W. Mackniak, Esq., Executive Director of Guardian Ad Litem Services, Inc., is proud to announce the addition of State Representative Rosa C. Rebimbas (R-Naugatuck) to its Board of Directors.

 “We could not be more proud and more honored,” said Mackniak of Rebimbas’ joining the Guardian board. “To see a local politician take a proactive approach to the care of constituents most in need is refreshing, and speaks volumes of the degree to which Representative Rebimbas cares about the people of Naugatuck and Connecticut.”

Guardian Ad Litem Services, Inc. (www.guardianadlitemsvcs.org) is a non-profit organization which provides case coordination and case management to persons with severe and persistent mental illness. Guardian was incorporated in 2002 and currently serves over 100 clients, primarily in the Naugatuck Valley, Waterbury, New Haven, West Haven, Danbury, and Torrington areas. The organization is currently expanding its operations to provide services to persons with Traumatic Brain Injury, children with mental illnesses, and older adults with mental incapacities such as dementia and Alzheimer’s DiseaseRepresentative Rosa C. Rebimbas was elected to the State House of Representatives representing the 70th district in Naugatuck in a special election in March of 2009. Upon her election, she was appointed to the Appropriations, Energy and Technology, and Public Safety Committees. A life-long resident of Naugatuck and local business owner, she is president of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury, Inc., and involved with several other local organizations and committees.
